Heavy rain left part of I-45 covered in water, slowing drivers north of downtown Houston.
HOUSTON — Heavy storms that moved through the Houston area on Saturday morning left high water on the North Freeway.
From Houston TranStar, we could see high water across several lanes of I-45 northbound at Patton Street.Â
KHOU 11’s Michelle Choi also reported that the Navigation Boulevard and Canal Street underpass has been shut down due to high water.
The early morning line of storms moved into the Houston area a little before 3 a.m. and quickly moved out of the area.
The line that moved through early Saturday was the first of two rounds of storms. The next round of storms is expected Saturday evening into the overnight and could bring the threat of severe weather or high water again.
A Weather Impact Alert has been issued for all day Saturday.
