Bach in the Subways returns to Mockingbird Station next week.
Bach in the Subways, an event celebrating German composer and musician Johann Sebastian Bach, is back in Dallas for his 341st birthday. The celebration has free performances across the world in subways and public spaces over a 10-day span from March 21 ending on the composer’s birthday March 31.
“Our mission is to bring Bach to as many people in the world as possible,” said Dale Henderson, who founded Bach in the Subways back in 2010 when he would perform in the New York subway, in a press release.
Here in East Dallas, it will take place from 7-8 p.m. on March 26 and be at Mockingbird Station Shopping Center on the second level outside of the Angelika Film Center. If there is rain, then the event would move downstairs near Sandbox VR. The concert will be free to the public with performances from the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra and Lone Star Wind Orchestra. Seating is limited, so attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets. Jimmy’s Food Store will be providing complimentary sandwiches to those in attendance.
