SAN ANTONIO – If you are looking for a job today, VIA is hiring. Later this afternoon, they will be hosting a job fair and offering on-the-spot hiring.
VIA Metropolitan Transit will hold a job fair from 3-7 p.m. at the VIA Metro Center, 1021 San Pedro Ave., coinciding with National Transit Employee Appreciation Day.
The event will feature hiring for full-time bus operators, with on-the-spot contingent job offers available to qualified candidates. Applicants must apply online at VIAinfo.net/employment, complete the Talent Click assessment, attend the job fair for an interview, and pass a post-offer screening process.
Other positions available include van operators, transit security officers and transit police officers. VIA is offering hiring incentives of up to $4,000 for full-time bus and van operators, with starting pay of $23.24 per hour for bus operators and $19.09 per hour for van operators.
Paid training for new operators begins weekly. Candidates for bus operator positions must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid Texas driver’s license, have three years of driving experience, and possess strong people skills.
