EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Police are investigating a “suspicious death” on Tuesday evening in Northeast El Paso.

Information is limited at the moment, but the El Paso Police Department reported that detectives from the Crimes Against Persons unit are at the 8700 block of Lawson Street, in Angel’s Triangle, near Dyer Street.

According to EPPD, officers responded to a welfare check at about 2:30 p.m. at an apartment building on the 8700 block of Lawson Street.

When officers arrived, a 29-year-old man was found dead in the apartment.

Police said this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

However, EPPD said the area will be closed off for a few hours.
