Calallen is a perfect 10-0 against Robstown since March of 2021 and they’ll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Cottonpickers at 6:00 p.m. Calallen is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

Calallen is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Zapata on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-1 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday’s blowout was nothing new.

Jordyn Thibodeaux was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn’t allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn’t given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kylie Butcher was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That’s the most hits she has posted over her last 11 matchups. Kiana Vargas was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Calallen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Zapata only posted an OBP of .267.

Meanwhile, Robstown fell victim to Zapata and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 8-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Cottonpickers’ shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Robstown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yollina Pesina, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Calallen’s win bumped their record up to 17-8-1. As for Robstown, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10-1.

Friday’s game will be a test for both teams’ pitchers. Calallen hasn’t had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .366. However, it’s not like Robstown struggles in that department as they’ve averaged .360. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went Calallen’s way against Robstown when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Calallen made off with a 13-2 victory. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Cottonpickers have a new game plan this time around? We’ll find out soon enough.
