Gov. Greg Abbott announced the state will not observe the Cesar Chavez Day holiday on March 31 following newly surfaced allegations against the late labor leader. Several planned celebrations in Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi have already been canceled. In Tarrant County, however, the Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta Committee still plans to move forward with an anti‑ICE march scheduled for next Saturday.
