The Wind That Never Quits

Gritty dirt in your teeth? Welcome to Lubbock! If you spend more than a few months here, you are bound to see an “orange” day, thanks to the whipping winds picking up dirt from nearby fields. The last time the wind blew, I nearly lost a pack of bacon (really). I would have cried.

Prairie Dogs Living Their Best Life

One of my favorite things about Lubbock is the completely random fields full of adorable (and sometimes quite portly) prairie dogs. I love to see them run around, hear their precious chirps, and enjoy their antics. Seeing the babies alongside the big adults has my heart.

Endless Flat Views and Big West Texas Skies

I love a “big blue marble” day, as I call it, with deep blue skies and puffy white clouds. It makes it appear like Lubbock is the whole wide world, as you may be able to see from horizon to horizon with no obstructions, depending on where you are in Lubbock. I like to do this on Kent Street in North Lubbock- it’s perfectly magical.
