Allen and Plano East are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Eagles will square off against the Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Allen is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

If Allen beats Plano East with eight runs on Thursday, it’s going to be the team’s new lucky number: they’ve won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Eagles walked away with an 8-4 victory over McKinney Boyd on Tuesday.

Yahmadi Morgan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it’s clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adyson Fincanon, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Dennis, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

They weren’t the only ones making solid contact: Allen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they’ve now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Plano East not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 22, 2025 (when they won 25-4). They were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over McKinney. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Lions: they’ve now won four in a row.

Ella Anderson looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

On the hitting side, Aza Ward was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Kayleigh Miller was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base.

Allen’s record now sits at 15-3. As for Plano East, their record is now 5-9-2.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Allen hasn’t had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.7 home runs per game. However, it’s not like Plano East struggles in that department as they’ve been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it’ll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Allen came up short against Plano East in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, falling 9-5. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We’ll find out soon enough.
