The Lubbock Police Department released images of what the texts look like. The Lubbock Police wants to remind citizens that the COL Municipal Court does not send out text messages regarding citations. If someone does have a question about citations, they can call the Municipal Court directly at (806) 775-2473.

This type of scam isn’t just limited to Lubbock. In the Dallas area, police are warning citizens about scams when it comes to traffic tickets and fake text messages being sent out about those according to FOX4.
