DENTON — The UNT track and field program is prepared to begin the outdoor schedule at the TCU Alumni Invite in Fort Worth on Friday and Saturday.
 

The Mean Green will take a mixture of freshman and veterans to the meet as they continue to recover from the last part of the indoor season. Friday’s action will consist only of high jump, discus and hammer throw. The majority of the meet takes place on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m., at the Lowdon Track & Field Complex.

LAST TIME OUT

The Mean Green wrapped up the indoor season, as the women’s team won the American Conference Championship in Birmingham, Alabama, claiming the first conference championship since the team was a member of the Sun Belt Conference a quarter-century ago. The UNT men placed fifth in the team standings and both squads left with individual championships and several other podium finishes. The men had three indoor champions, as Oluwatimilehim Williams won the shot put with a new program record, Chase Lehr won the 800 and Hendrick Hundl set a new program and meet record with a 7.70 60-meter hurdles championship. On the women’s side, Fabrienne Foster won the weight throw, and London Maxwell won the mile.
