AUSTIN, Texas — Gov. Greg Abbott showed his March Madness spirit Thursday, sharing his 2026 NCAA Tournament bracket on X.
Abbott posted a photo of his completed bracket, calling it “the golden ticket” and picking the Houston Cougars to win the men’s national championship. He chose the Texas Longhorns women’s team to win their tournament.
“The Houston Cougars went to the final game last year, but came up short. They will win it all this year. #GoCoogs,” Abbott wrote, adding “#HookEm” in support of the Longhorns women.

Abbott’s bracket shows Houston advancing through the South region and reaching the national championship game, where the Cougars would defeat Michigan.
