A little extra kindness is on the agenda in Austin this month, as The Kindness Campaign gets ready for its annual Art of Kindness Gala on March 27 — and teases an exciting new children’s book featuring their beloved character “Enoughie Buddy.”
The Kindness Campaign founder Andra Liemandt joined Trevor Scott to share how the organization is focused on spreading kindness every single day through its work in the community.

“We are a national nonprofit, and we are based right here in Austin,” said Liemandt, “And we really focus on building emotionally healthy humans. And we do that by really teaching kindness and emotional literacy as a life skill. So we do that through our programming and our tools and our experiences, and we do it right into the home and in our communities and especially in our schools.”

The organization’s Art of Kindness Gala is set for March 27th, and is the group’s annual event to raise awareness for their mission in the community.
“Our Art of Kindness Gala is a roomful of really caring people who want more kindness in the world. So, first and foremost, it’s such a great event simply with the people who fill that room. But really, it’s just a really neat way to see our work in action.”
Liemandt is especially excited to announce that this year’s featured speaker is Jefferson Fisher.
“Jefferson Fisher is the number one communicator. He has a book out, and that book is known as the number one communication book in the world. I went to Book People, and I waited two hours in line just to meet him, mainly because I follow him and I love his work. And I really wanted to talk with him about the work we do. I think there’s a huge alignment. We’re values aligned. And people see things that maybe are mission and vision aligned, and they’re open, good things happen. So we’ve been partnering all year. He’s busy launching his workbook and all the great things that he’s got going on, but he made time for us. And I feel very honored.”

And for families, The Kindness Campaign has a new children’s book on the way, introducing readers to Enoughie Buddy.
“The first book was all about Enoughie Buddy finding a superpower. In this new second book, which I’m very proud of, I thought, what’s the next thing? So you find your superpower, which is really important because we all have a great superpower within us. Then what? What do you do with that superpower? Once you find it, will you activate it? So Enoughie Buddy gets all his friends, and they go around the neighborhood, and they activate those emotional super-powers within.”
