The winner chose to stay anonymous.

HOUSTON — A Missouri City resident is waking up a millionaire after claiming a $2 million prize from the Texas Lottery’s “Golden Riches” scratch-off game.

According to lottery officials, the winning ticket was purchased at Murphy Express 8806 at 12250 Southwest Freeway in Meadows Place. The winner has chosen to remain anonymous, a common option for major prize recipients in Texas.

The retailer that sold the lucky ticket could also see a financial boost. That Murphy Express location is eligible for up to $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.

Lottery officials say this marks the second of four available $2 million top prizes to be claimed in the Golden Riches game. Overall odds of winning any prize standing at one in 3.76. That includes break-evens.

Just last week, we posted about two other million-dollar winners in the Houston area.
