The San Antonio Spurs go for the season-series tie and their fourth straight win when they tip off against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday.

The Phoenix Suns go for the season-series victory against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night in this finale. But the Suns are trying to end a three-game losing streak, while the Spurs are trying to build on a three-game winning streak. Phoenix has lost three in a row after winning four straight and six of its previous seven. San Antonio has won eight of its last nine games and beat Phoenix in its first matchup. The Spurs won in a 121-94 rout on Feb. 19 in Game 3 at home. That victory was good enough for the Spurs’ seventh straight win. Stephon Castle led the club with 20 points, while Victor Wembanyama added 17 with 11 rebounds. The Suns played most of the game without Devin Booker, who played only nine minutes before leaving with right hip soreness. Dillon Brooks was out serving a suspension, which allowed Jalen Green to step up and lead all scorers with 26 points. Brooks is still out for this game with a hand injury, and Grayson Allen is considered a game-time decision with a knee injury. The Spurs should be the favorite to tie this series at home tonight. With 51 wins, the Spurs are just three games back of the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Spurs are coming off a dominant 132-104 road win over the worst team in the Western Conference, the Sacramento Kings, on Tuesday. Wembanyama led the charge once again with 18 points and eight rebounds. Surprisingly, it was the Spurs’ first win in Sacramento in more than two years. It was a homecoming for former Kings’ star De’Aaron Fox, who added 15 points, six assists, and five rebounds. The Spurs led by as much as 41 in the third quarter and shot an incredible 51 percent from three. San Antonio shot 52 percent from the field, with the win never really in doubt.

The Suns weren’t able to make up any ground on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, dropping 116-104 on the road. Phoenix is seventh in the Western Conference standings and now sits three games back of the sixth-place Timberwolves. Julius Randle led Minnesota with 32 points, and Bones Hyland had another 22 points off the bench to help the Timberwolves to a victory despite missing Anthony Edwards. Booker did his part for the Suns, leading all scorers with 34 points, but he struggled from three, hitting just one of seven attempts from behind the arc. Playing on back-to-back nights against Boston and Minnesota proved to be too much, especially considering the Suns were without Allen, Brooks, and Mark Williams. This would be an incredibly tough stretch even if Phoenix was healthy.
