One dead, multiple injured during shooting near South Dallas, officials say

Police responded to a shooting call in the 4500 block of South Fitzhugh Avenue just after 11 p.m. Thursday.

DALLAS — One person is dead and multiple others are injured during a shooting near South Dallas, officials say. 

Police responded to a shooting call in the 4500 block of South Fitzhugh Avenue just after 11 p.m. Thursday. 

When officers arrived on scene, they found one person dead and multiple others injured. According to police, at least two people were transported to the hospital where their condition remains unknown. 

WFAA spoke to the family on scene that say an uncle was in the car with his nephews at the time of the shooting. 

Officers say at least one person on scene was taken to police headquarters for questioning. 

This remains an ongoing investigation.
