AUSTIN, Texas — An APD officer was injured, and a suspect is in custody, after a police pursuit early Friday morning stretched from south Austin all the way to Cedar Park.

APD says the pursuit began around 2:30 a.m. Friday morning near the intersection of South First Street and Ben White Boulevard.

The pursuit headed west on Ben White Boulevard to Mopac, going north on Mopac into north Austin and then west on US 183 into Williamson County.

Around 2:45 a.m., an officer involved in the pursuit collided with a construction vehicle on US 183 near the 10200 block of Research Boulevard, receiving minor injuries in the crash.

The officer was taken to the hospital for their injuries, and is expected to be released. Police say the occupant of the construction vehicle was not injured in the collision.

The pursuit ended just north of the Cedar Park city limits when the suspect went off the road near South Block House Drive and Creek Run Drive.

He was arrested and is suspected of drunk driving, police say.
