“6WA” is the new mixtape from Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug and his 600 Entertainment label mates, with appearances by Texas artists Ro$ama, Yung Hood, Murdagang PB, KevanGotBandz and KaineMusic. Rap icons Snoop Dogg and the D.O.C., a native of West Dallas, are also on the album.

BigXthaPlug has been on a roll lately, landing on the cover of Rolling Stone this month. The magazine touted his “Texas-sized” ambition, as he’s crossed over from hip-hop to the country music charts. In November, he teamed up with Grapevine-raised musician Post Malone on the country-trap duet “Cold.” He’s also teamed up with other country stars, including Shaboozey, Ella Langley, Luke Combs and Bailey Zimmerman.
6WA, though, is a nod to classic hip-hop, with a mix of Texas swag and West Coast-inspired sounds. The cover art is reminiscent of N.W.A.’s classic 1988 album Straight Outta Compton.
Born Xavier Landum, the 27-year-old rapper rose to prominence in the early 2020s with hits like “Texas” and “Mmhmm.” The Ferris High School graduate launched his label in 2023.
He has released three studio albums since 2023, Amar, Take Care and I Hope You’re Happy, with the first two certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
