AUSTIN, Texas — A baby has died days after being born prematurely following a crash in South Austin.

The Austin Police Department (APD) said a two-vehicle crash happened Saturday, March 14 at around 2:21 p.m. in the 500 block of South Congress Avenue. 

Police said a pregnant passenger was injured in the crash and was taken to a local hospital, where she gave birth prematurely. The baby was later pronounced dead four days later on Thursday, March 19.  Police also said the driver of the other vehicle remained on scene.
