KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State softball fell 13-3 in its series opener to Sam Houston at Bailey Park.Â
Â
Eight of the nine starting Owls reached base safely in tonight’s contest and Jojo Johnson went yard for her second homer of the season.Â
Â
How It HappenedÂ
Sam Houston set the tone early, putting up five runs through the first three innings. Â
Â
The Owls were held scoreless until the fifth inning but found some late momentum. After loading the bases, the first run for KSU crossed home off a Hannah Harvey single. Macie Howes scored another runner the next at-bat with a bases-loaded walk.Â
Â
In the following inning, Johnson took a pitch and lifted it just over the left field wall for a solo shot.
