Velocity is also developing a “Virtual Dallas” course that will let drivers race south along U.S. 75 toward downtown before looping back north on the Tollway.

DALLAS — Get ready, North Texas! Racing fans will soon have a new place to hit the virtual track.

Velocity Sim Racing Lounge is set to open this summer at 9830 N. Central Expressway, bringing more than 10,000 square feet of racing action to North Dallas.

It will feature 34 professional-grade racing simulators, three racing zones, a central bar and a full kitchen serving motorsports-inspired food and craft cocktails.

Velocity already operates a location in Houston. The Dallas location will double that space and serve as the company’s new flagship. The company says when it opens, Velocity Dallas will be the largest sim racing center in Texas.

“Motorsports and racing have been a huge part of my life, and Velocity is about sharing that passion with the community,” said founder Viet Tran. “After creating a destination for car and racing enthusiasts in Houston, we knew Dallas was the natural next step.”

This announcement come on the heels of the inaugural Java House Grand Prix in Arlington, which transformed city streets into a temporary course for the IndyCar race.

Velocity guests will be able to slide behind the wheel of virtual versions of cars from brands like Porsche and Lamborghini and race on world-famous tracks such as Circuit of the Americas, Laguna Seca and Silverstone Circuit.

Velocity is also developing a “Virtual Dallas” course that will let drivers race south along U.S. 75 toward downtown before looping back north on the Tollway.

Families can get in on the fun, too. The Dallas location will debut Velocity’s patent-pending Racer Simulator, designed for kids and adults to race side by side in their dream cars.

Velocity plans to connect its Dallas and Houston lounges for live intercity racing events, complete with cameras so fans can watch in real time. The company says its long-term vision includes a statewide sim racing championship to crown the best driver in Texas.
