DALLAS, LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — A high-speed police pursuit early Friday morning ended in a crash in Dallas Borough, where officers say they discovered weapons and what appeared to be plans targeting local businesses.

According to court records, officers first encountered a man parked near a Citgo gas station along Route 118 in Lehman Township just before 4 a.m. The driver, identified as 39-year-old Michael Allen Pritt of Wynnewood, told police he had run out of gas and was waiting for money.

As officers attempted to investigate, police say the driver suddenly fled, leading them on a pursuit along Route 118 at speeds reportedly exceeding 120 miles per hour.

The chase ended when the vehicle entered a roundabout in Dallas Borough and struck a concrete curb before coming to a stop.

Pritt was taken into custody at the scene. Investigators say a search of the vehicle uncovered two Glock 9mm handguns, multiple magazines, a police scanner, a ballistic vest, and a notebook containing addresses of gas stations across Northeast Pennsylvania.

Authorities also determined the firearms and the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Philadelphia.

Charges against Pritt are pending, and the investigation remains ongoing.
