FORT WORTH, Texas — A shooting early Sunday morning in Fort Worth left one person dead, prompting a homicide investigation, according to a press release from the Fort Worth Police Department.

Officers responded to the 2000 block of E. Long Ave. around 2:09 a.m. and found a victim with at least one gunshot wound, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses provided a description of the suspect vehicle, which led officers to detain five individuals found inside the vehicle nearby.

The Fort Worth Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the incident, while the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will confirm the victim’s identity and cause of death.
