SOCORRO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Socorro police said it has extradited a man suspected of robbing a convenience store back in 2025, after he was caught in Florida.

According to the City of Socorro, Kalvin Adrian Martinez, 24, was booked into the El Paso County Downtown Jail on Friday after he was extradited from Miramar, Florida.

This comes after investigators issued a warrant for Martinez’s arrest on Feb. 25, following his identification as the suspect in a robbery that happened at the Murphy USA located at 9941 North Loop Drive.

The City credited the United States Marshals, Florida Caribbean Fugitive Task Force – Ft. Lauderdale, with finding Martinez, saying that they arrested him on March 11.

On Wednesday, the Socorro Police Department, along with the Texas Rangers, coordinated a visit to Florida to bring Martinez back to the Borderland.

Jail records show Martinez was charged with aggravated robbery and a bond was set at $150,000.

The City described the robbery, saying that on Jan. 17, 2025, the suspect approached the counter pretending to buy something, but instead of pulling out a wallet, they pulled out a gun and handed the clerk a plastic bag, ordering them to fill it with money from the cash register, before making a getaway in a vehicle.
