EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — On Saturday, March 21, the El Paso Democratic Party hosted the 2026 El Paso Democratic Party County Convention.
The county convention is hosted every two years, during which the county parties elect delegates to the state convention, pass issue and policy resolution statements, and forward them for potential inclusion in the Texas Democratic Party platform.
This year’s convention featured speakers such as Congresswoman Veronica Escobar, State Senator Cesar Blanco and others. The full speaker lineup is listed below:

The event took place in the conference room of the Socorro Independent School District Athletic Complex II and was called to order at 10 a.m.
County and Convention Chair Michael Apodaca welcomed guests to the convention, followed by remarks from El Paso County Democratic elected officials.
The agenda also consisted of committee business and announcements.
Clayton Tucker, candidate for agricultural commissioner, addressed El Paso Democrats as the morning’s guest speaker.
As a prerequisite to attend the convention, individuals were required to have voted in the Democratic Primary on March 3.
Delegates elected at the El Paso Democratic County Convention will represent El Paso at the 2026 State Convention, scheduled for June 25-27 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
