We learned plenty about the SEC in Week 9.
No. 8 Ole Miss got things started early in the day with a vital road win over No. 13 Oklahoma to move to 7-1. The afternoon window then provided the fireworks as No. 10 Vanderbilt held on to beat No. 15 Missouri after the Tigers’ last-gasp Hail Mary attempt came up just short of the goal line. No. 4 Alabama then eked out a road win over South Carolina and No. 22 Texas needed some late theatrics of its own to topple Mississippi State in overtime.

To cap off the night, No. 3 Texas A&M hammered No. 20 LSU in a one-sided affair in Death Valley. The Aggies actually trailed at halftime before catching fire late and scoring 35 consecutive points to win in a blowout. QB Marcel Reed made his Heisman case, running for two touchdowns and throwing for two more while accounting for more than 300 yards in the win.
