SAN MARCOS, Texas — A woman was killed after a head-on collision involved two cars in San Marcos Friday evening, according to police.

San Marcos PD says that police officers, along with fire and EMS officials, responded to a crash at around 6:09 p.m. Friday evening in the 9800 block of FM 110 between Highway 80 and SH 21.

Police say the crash involved a dark-colored Hyundai Sonata and a white Honda Accord, and that the preliminary investigation indicates the Honda veered into the oncoming lane and crashed head-on with the Hyundai.

The driver of the Hyundai, identified by police as 48-year-old Estella Rodriguez Autry, was taken to Ascension Seton Hays Hospital in Kyle, where police say she died.

The driver of the Honda was also taken to the same hospital; that person is expected to survive their injuries.

Police say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
