LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) -A new record high temperatures were set again yesterday: The high of 98 at Lubbock breaks the old record of 93 set in 1997.
That also breaks the all-time record high for the month of March. Which was 95°F, reached on 3/20/2026, 3/11/1989 and 3/31/1946.

Today, temperatures climb fast into the upper 90s, with some spots crossing that triple-digit threshold.
At the same time, the air is really dry.
A cold front moves through this afternoon. It won’t bring much cooling right away, but it will shift winds.
