North Texas is headed into the hottest day of the weekend heat.
Sunday will bring highs of 93 degrees with south wind gusts as high as 30 mph, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.
Clear and sunny skies are in the forecast with no chance of rain. Nighttime temperatures are expected to bottom out at 60 degrees.
The hot weather and high wind gusts have led to a critical fire threat in part of Dallas-Fort Worth on Sunday, the weather service said.

“Avoid any outdoor burning tomorrow and avoid tossing lit cigarettes,” the weather service said.

The weather is expected to cool down after Sunday with daytime temperatures in the 80s in the front end of the coming week, according to the weather service’s forecast.
North Texans can expect some mid-week heat starting Wednesday with highs in the 90s.
