Plano West is 8-2 against Plano East since April of 2021 and they’ll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wolves will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 7:15 p.m. One thing working in Plano West’s favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
Plano West came out on top against McKinney Boyd on Saturday thanks in part to the team’s impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Wolves blew past the Broncos 15-4. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Emma Kesler looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Brooke Reasoner and Lola Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Reasoner went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Brown went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Brown a new career-high. Abby Jennings was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Plano West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they’ve now posted a batting average of .474 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Saturday. Plano East came out on top in a nail-biter against Princeton, sneaking past 2-1. The win continues a trend for Plano East in their matchups with Princeton: they’ve now won five in a row.
Ella Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it’s clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn’t given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Plano East saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emerson Bailey, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was Bailey’s first of the season.
Plano East’s victory bumped their record up to 6-10-2. As for Plano West, their win bumped their record up to 10-8-1.
Plano West was able to grind out a solid victory over Plano East in their previous meeting back in February, winning 10-5. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We’ll find out soon enough.
