HOUSTON – People in the Houston area reported seeing a meteor streak across the sky Saturday, followed by a loud boom.
Reports began coming in from people who said they saw the meteor dart across the sky before hearing the boom. Dash cam video captured the moment a white streak appeared in the blue sky.
The National Weather Service said its satellites picked up a possible meteor or meteorite. As of now, there have been no reports of where Saturday’s meteor near Houston may have landed.
The sighting comes just days after a meteor flew over northeast Ohio. That boom could be heard in a number of states from Pennsylvania to New York.
