Train strikes pedestrian walking on railroad tracks near downtown, Union Pacific says

SAN ANTONIO — A pedestrian was struck by a train while walking on the tracks on Sunday afternoon, according to Union Pacific.

The San Antonio Fire Department responded around 3:15 p.m. to the 800 block of Buena Vista Street.

The pedestrian was walking on the railroad tracks when they were struck by a train, according to a statement from Union Pacific.

Train crews witnessed the incident but were not injured. The pedestrian’s condition is currently unknown.

The collision did not occur at a crossing. We have reached out to SAFD for more information.
