SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Airport Police arrested a man late Sunday night after officers said he was carrying a knife inside the airport and briefly fled from authorities.
According to airport police, officers made contact with the man around 11:30 p.m. in the lower levels of the airport. While speaking with him, police said he ran off while still holding the knife.
Authorities temporarily cleared workers from parts of the airport as a precaution, including construction crews working nearby, until the situation was deemed safe.
San Antonio Police were called to assist, but within minutes, officers located the suspect in a parking lot and took him into custody without further incident.
The man remained in jail Monday morning and is facing multiple charges. His identity has not yet been released.
