Looking to break into healthcare? Baptist Health System is hiring patient care associates for its hospitals, and no healthcare experience is needed.

SAN ANTONIO — If you’re looking to start a career in health care, Baptist Health System is hoping to meet you this week.

The hospital system is hosting a hiring event for patient care associates, or PCAs, on Tuesday, March 24, for positions across its seven hospitals in San Antonio and New Braunfels.

The event will run from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Baptist Health System School of Health Professions, located at 8400 Datapoint Drive.

Hospital leaders say no prior health care experience is needed, but customer service experience is required. Candidates are encouraged to bring their resumes to apply, meet with hiring leaders and interview on site.

Top candidates will also have a chance to take part in “A Day in the Life Experience” on March 25, a four-hour job shadow opportunity at a selected Baptist Health System facility.

According to Baptist Health System, patient care associates provide direct patient care, take vital signs, help with daily living needs, work with nursing staff to document patient information and help educate patients on what to expect during their stay.

The hospital system says qualified candidates may be eligible for benefits including paid time off, a 401(k) retirement program, life insurance, an employee referral program and tuition reimbursement.

Those hired as PCAs will also receive hands-on bedside training, mentoring, career-growth opportunities and support through a clinical ladder program.

People interested in attending are asked to RSVP by email to Sherwin.Guevarra@tenethealth.com.
