Batavia placed third and Geneva finished fourth at a DuKane Conference boys indoor track and field meet, with both programs earning multiple event victories, while Plano took second at the Reed-Custer Invitational and area teams competed in a Southwest Prairie Conference girls meet.
Batavia’s 4×200-meter relay team won its event, and Darin Ashiru captured the long jump, while Geneva’s Bennet Konkey won the 55-meter run and the Vikings also claimed victories in the 4×400- and 4×800-meter relays.
At the Reed-Custer Invitational, Plano finished second as Alejandro Delgado won the 1,600-meter run, Jayden Balingit won the triple jump and the 4×400-meter relay team also earned a victory.
In girls indoor track and field, Oswego East placed fourth, Oswego finished fifth and Yorkville took eighth at a Southwest Prairie Conference meet, where Oswego East’s Layla Brisbon won the 55-meter hurdles and teammate Avaya Kittling-Turner won the long jump.
Plano also placed second in the girls competition at the Reed-Custer Invitational.
