EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso is getting its first Shipley Donuts shop this Spring, bringing the Houston-founded brand known for fresh, handmade donuts and kolaches to the city’s Far East side.
Shipley Donuts plans to open at 1710 N. Zaragoza Road, Suite 106.
The shop, owned by Angie Silva, is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2026 and is currently hiring.
The location is expected to create more than 40 jobs in the community, with in-person applications available at the shop beginning Tuesday, March 24.
Shipley Donuts has been rapidly growing across the state and the nation, and we’ve been eagerly anticipating the chance to bring our first El Paso location to life,” Shipley Donuts CEO Flynn Dekker said. “As we continue to grow our footprint, we look forward to making life delicious for those in the El Paso community who are experiencing our 90-year-old brand for the first time and learning why it’s a Texas icon.
Founded 90 years ago in Houston, Shipley offers more than 40 varieties of fresh, handmade daily donuts, including its signature glazed donut cut into a hexagon shape. The company’s “Hot Glazed Guarantee” includes warm glazed donuts served until 12 p.m. every day.
Each Shipley Donuts shop operates as a working bakery, with bakers arriving at 3 a.m. to make the first batch of donuts. The chain is also known for kolaches, including Bacon, Egg & Cheese; Ham & Cheese; Sausage & Cheese; and Sausage, Jalapeno & Cheese.
The El Paso shop is expected to be open daily from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. The 1,428-square-foot location will include indoor and outdoor seating, weather permitting, and an updated drive-thru.
Shipley Do-Nuts, founded in 1936, has more than 390 franchised and company-owned restaurants across 13 states.
