FORT WORTH, Texas — Part of Northbound Interstate 820 will be closed overnight Wednesday in southeast Fort Worth for an ongoing construction project, officials say.
Weather permitting, the roadway will be fully closed at Berry Street from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday, according to South-Point Constructors.
Northbound traffic will be diverted to the frontage road. Drivers should expect longer commutes are advised to find alternate routes during this time.
This closure is part of the Southeast Connector Project, a $1.6 billion project expected to be completed by February 2028. This is being done to rebuild and widen about 16 miles of I-820 and I-20 to relieve congestion in the east and southeast parts of Tarrant County and tie it to the central part of the county.
