Taylor Sheridan and Paramount dropped a teaser and premiere date for the newest ‘Yellowstone’ spinoff, apparently titled ‘Dutton Ranch.’

FERRIS, Texas — The long-anticipated spinoff of “Yellowstone,” chronicling the extended story of Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, now has a premiere date, and we have a better idea of what exactly the show will be about.

“Dutton Ranch,” which appears to have been filmed primarily in North Texas, will debut its first two episodes on May 15 on Paramount+ and the Paramount Network, according to a report from Variety. Taylor Sheridan, the prolific producer and director, is, of course, behind the project.

We knew that a Yellowstone spinoff with Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprising their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler was in the works since August 2025, when Ferris city officials first announced it would be one of the primary filming locations for a Sheridan production called “Rio Palo.”

We now know that “Rio Palo” may have been a code name for “Dutton Ranch, ” as the two projects appear to be synonymous. We know that the show was filmed in Ferris, and at least one other scene may have been filmed in Hood County this month, prompting TxDOT to close a bypass near the small town of Cresson.

The show stars Reilly and Hauser, of course, but also boasts other very famous actors, including Ed Harris and Annette Bening.

The teaser, which dropped on Monday, March 23, appears to show Rip and Beth in a violent fight for their future in Texas. Here’s the official log line for the show, according to Variety:

“As Beth and Rip fight to build a future together – far from the ghosts of Yellowstone – they collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire. In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul.”

Of course, “Dutton Ranch” is just one of several Sheridan productions currently in the works in North Texas. Nicole Kidman-led production “Lioness” recently filmed in Dallas and Fort Worth, and “The Madison,” which is also set to premiere soon, filmed several scenes in North Texas.
