HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — METRO has provided a comment after ABC13 found one of its buses was being sold at an online auction with METRO logo displays.
On Monday, METRO shared the following statement about a bus being sold on Public Surplus that still displays the company logo:
“The images shown are of the vehicle prior to its sale, while it was still located at a METRO bus operating facility. As part of our standard process, all identifying information, including bus numbers and METRO logos, is removed before the vehicle is transferred to a new owner.”
Last week, Eyewitness News reported on a former METRO bus listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace. However, the bus had the METRO logo removed, but you can still see the outline of the letters, and the distinctive blue-and-red diagonal stripes remain intact.
