AUSTIN, Texas — A person was rescued after being trapped by water in a tunnel near Lady Bird Lake on Saturday night.

Austin-Travis County EMS said that medics in the 1600 block of Stephen F. Austin Drive were working to rescue a pedestrian “surrounded by water” in a tunnel around 11:15 p.m. Saturday night.

ATCEMS said that their responders, along with AFD personnel, were able to successfully remove the person from the water without any injuries.

This comes after two people were swept away in the heavy storms seen on Friday night and early Saturday morning.
