AUSTIN, Texas — According to a new ranking from WalletHub, Austin is the best college town in the country. Meant as a tool to help high school seniors narrow down their choices for where to go to school, the list is a follow-up to the website’s previous rankings for the best colleges and universities in the country, where the University of Texas at Austin appeared at No. 58.

This is not the first time Austin has topped the list. It is the sixth year in a row that the Texas capital has been named the best college town in the country.

Here is how the website described the determining factors for the ranking system:

“WalletHub compared more than 400 U.S. cities of varying sizes based on 31 key indicators of academic, social and economic opportunities for students. The data set ranges from the cost of living and the crime rate to the quality of higher education in the city.”

Rounding out the top five cities were Ann Arbor, Mich., Orlando and Tampa, Fla., and Raleigh, N.C. At the bottom of the list of 415 cities considered was East Los Angeles, Calif. In fact, California cities made up the bottom five cities on the list.

Other Texas cities included College Station at No. 45, San Antonio at No. 65, Lubbock at No. 108, San Marcos at No. 123, Dallas at No. 132 and El Paso at No. 149.
