A 5th wheel trailer known to be broken into by unhoused people was destroyed in an early morning fire on the south side of San Antonio, officials said.
SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters are investigating after a trailer went up in flames early Tuesday morning on the south side of San Antonio.
The fire was reported around 1 a.m. in the 300 block of East Harding Boulevard near Roosevelt Avenue, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.
A battalion chief said crews arrived to find a 5th wheel trailer fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire, but the trailer was declared a total loss.
Officials said the trailer was parked on a lot next to a paint and body shop and belonged to the people on the neighboring property.
Investigators are still working to determine what caused the fire. Fire officials said unhoused people are known to break into the trailer.
No injuries were reported. SAFD and SAPD both responded to the scene.
