HOUSTON — Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar will close one of its three Houston-area restaurants next month.
The location at 2405 W. Alabama St. in Upper Kirby is slated to close April 18, CultureMap first reported. Elizabeth Daly, director of media and community relations for Fleming’s parent company, Florida-based Bloomin’ Brands Inc. (Nasdaq: BLMN), confirmed the closure plans to both CultureMap and the Houston Business Journal.
Fleming’s decided not to renew its lease on an end-cap space within The Centre at River Oaks, which includes Ulta Beauty and Texas Children’s Pediatrics as anchor tenants. According to a marketing brochure from Dallas-based Shop Cos., the 7,111-square-foot Fleming’s location is the only available space in the two-building, two-story shopping center.
Fleming’s River Oaks, as the location is called, opened in 2002, Daly confirmed. Employees will have the opportunity to transfer to another location.
