SAN ANTONIO – A man was attacked by a machete during an early-morning robbery on the West Side; suspect remains at large.
The incident occurred early Sunday around 2:14 a.m. on the 1500 block of Ruiz Street.
SAPD responded to the scene after a man was approached near Ruiz Street and N. Zarzamora by an unknown suspect demanding his wallet. When the victim refused, he was struck in the face with a machete, causing severe lacerations.
The suspect took the victim’s wallet and cell phone before taking off in an older Chevrolet Trailblazer. The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made at this time.
