Fatal head-on collision shuts down Highway 46 west of Boerne

KENDALL COUNTY, Texas — A fatal head-on crash has closed off State Highway 46 west of Boerne, according to the Boerne Fire Department.

As of 4:25 p.m., the 300 block of Highway 46 West near Enchanted Spring Ranch is closed in both directions, the fire department said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

The highway is expected to be closed for upwards of four hours while emergency crews work to clear the scene. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes and avoid the area if possible.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is leading the investigation.
