KENDALL COUNTY, Texas — Two people were injured in a helicopter crash Tuesday morning in Kendall County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
DPS troopers responded to the crash at 11 a.m. on private property at Headwaters Ranch, located at 8333 RM 1376.
Investigators said preliminarily it appears the helicopter struck a tree before crashing to the ground. The aircraft was occupied by two individuals at the time of the crash.
The pilot was airlifted to University Hospital in San Antonio. The passenger was transported by ground to Methodist Hill Country Memorial Hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been notified and will be leading the investigation. The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office and Kendall County Fire/EMS also responded and assisted with the incident.
The exact area where the crash happened is hard to pinpoint. This is the Texas Hill Country but it’s not the highest terrain. The area has peaks that can range from 1,300 to 1,500 feet.
The investigation remains ongoing.
