Country music legend Willie Nelson will be back in Austin at Germania Insurance Amphitheater for his Fourth of July Picnic. The event, inspired by the Dripping Springs Reunion, a slapdash, honky-tonk Woodstock that lured the Red-Headed Stranger to Texas in the mid-1970s, is over 50 years old. This year’s edition is part of a compressed version of the annual Outlaw Music Festival, which Nelson has headlined for the last several years. In addition to Willie and Family, the star-studded lineup for the Austin date includes bluegrass star Billy Strings alongside Wilco, Sheryl Crow, Lukas Nelson, Stephen Wilson Jr., Margo Price, Rodney Crowell and Lily Meola.
In addition to the Austin stop, the Outlaw Music Festival has dates in Irving on July 3 and The Woodlands on July 5.
