AUSTIN, Texas — As We Are Blood marks its 75th anniversary, the central Texas blood bank is partnering with two iconic Austin eateries to encourage residents to roll up their sleeves this April.
The monthlong campaign offers donors a chance to receive free food vouchers as a thank-you for helping maintain the region’s blood supply.
From April 1 through April 15, donors who give — or attempt to give — blood at any We Are Blood donor center or mobile drive will receive a voucher for five free wings from Pluckers Wing Bar.
Immediately following that promotion, from April 16 through April 30, donors will be rewarded with a voucher for a free breakfast from P. Terry’s Burger Stand.

The initiative comes at a critical time of year. We Are Blood says that spring break travel and seasonal schedule changes often lead to a drop in blood donations, creating challenges for maintaining adequate supply levels.
We Are Blood serves more than 50 hospitals across a 10-county region in Central Texas, making consistent donations essential for patient care.
By teaming up with two Austin restaurant brands, the organization hopes to boost turnout while celebrating its decades-long mission in the community.
Residents interested in participating can donate at any We Are Blood location or mobile drive throughout April.
