Newswise — From El Paso’s Lower Valley to Match Day, Stephen Contreras’ journey comes full circle.
Before beginning his medical school journey at the Foster School of Medicine, he served as an emergency room nurse at University Medical Center of El Paso, already making a difference in the lives of our community.
It was that experience that fueled his decision to continue his education and become a physician.
Stephen has always known he wanted to stay in El Paso. Now, matching into Emergency Medicine at Texas Tech Health El Paso, he will continue caring for his people where he’s needed most.
