EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) – El Paso Locomotive FC is set to open the 2025 USL Championship Playoffs at home for the first time in four years. The Locomotives will host Phoenix Rising FC at Southwest University Park on Saturday, Nov. 1, after clinching home-field advantage, when Phoenix ended its match with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in a draw earlier this week.
El Paso managed to clinch the playoff spot despite losing 5-2 Saturday night, Oct. 25, in their regular-season finale against San Antonio FC.
The matchup, scheduled for 7:30 p.m., marks Locomotive’s first home playoff appearance since 2021. The winner will advance to face either FC Tulsa or the Western Conference’s eighth seed.
El Paso enters the playoffs after its most productive season in club history, scoring 60 goals and finishing among the top attacking sides in the conference. The club will look to turn that regular-season success into its first playoff advancement since 2020.
Phoenix comes in as the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference.
The two clubs played to draws in both of their regular-season meetings, each featuring dramatic three-goal comebacks by the visiting team.
Tickets for the postseason match and any potential home playoff games that follow are available through the club’s official site.
