Pinthouse Pizza has begun serving customers at the new San Antonio location — its very first outside of the Austin-Round Rock metro area. The restaurant opened Monday at 5534 N. Loop 1604 W. Its expansive space includes two main dining areas with various seating options, a free gaming zone and a brewery.

Upon opening, Pinthouse Pizza had around 18 beers on tap, along with other beverage options like wine and non-alcoholic beers.

Last fall, Pinthouse Brewing was awarded two medals by the Great American Beer Festival: a gold for Fleeting Shadows in the International Dark Lager category and a silver for Hecho En Szechuan in Herb and Spice Beer.

The pizza shouldn’t be slept on, either. The Austin-based chain offers classic pies like Texas Chicken Ranch and The Hoe Down, along with specialty pies like Honey Pear and Shroomin’ Goat. If you aren’t in the mood for pizza, you can also enjoy a salad, sandwich or dessert.

Pinthouse Pizza’s new San Antonio location is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Happy hour is from 3 to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday and includes $5 pints, $7 glasses of wine and $5 select appetizers.

Upon this week’s grand opening, Pinthouse Pizza has five locations:
